Rudder Assembly

Okay, the horizontal stabilizer is pretty much complete. Next is the rudder assembly.

02/02/2013 6.5 hours 33.5 Cumm. Worked on the rudder assembly today. This included checking the alignment of the rudder spar with the vertical. Drilled the rudder spar plates, final drilled the rudder hinge brackets, final drilled the rudder horn, filed, sanded smoothed and final primed.
02/08/2013 6.5 hours 40 hours Cum – Assembled the rudder. Rudder skeleton and skins. It was a bad day for riveting. Smiley faces lifted, poor bucked head. Must have drilled out six rivets and a couple of rivets to or three times....another five or six on the ground.

Lower assembly: This was a difficult joint to assemble. This is where I had the greatest trouble. Just couldn't get the manual rivet squeezer into this area very well!!
